PADUA
PADUA is a shell based LDAP browser/editor written in Perl.
I wrote this after seeing tcldish, a DUA written in tcl that's part of M-Vault LDAP server, of Messaging Direct.
Features
Rigth now (2001/04/26), PADUA only support's read-only operations.
- Connecting to a LDAP server
- Anonymous or Authenticated bind's
- Basic navigation in the DIT
- Search
- Showing a entry
- Create aliases of commands
Requirements
PADUA needs the following to work:
- Perl (tested with 5.6.0)
- Net::LDAP
- Term::ReadLine
- Term::ReadKey
I tested this against the following LDAP servers:
- OpenLDAP (1.2.x and 2.0.7)
- M-Vault (version ??)
It should work with any decent LDAP server...
Download
You can download the
current version
(0.2). It's stable.
Todo's
Todo's are more or less organized in the order I expect to to them.
- Setup a mailing list in SourceForge
- Document command line parameters
- Create a online help
- Make password prompt's in echo off mode
- Define and support a configuration file
- Support local files to define the schema of the DIT
- Add operation
- Modify operation
- Tag the result of a search, and apply a operation to a result set
- Show entries in LDIF format optionally
- Export entries to file
- Use LDAP v3 stuff to get the schema from the server
